Civil Liability (Act) : the law governing the amenability to civil action as distinguished from amenability to criminal prosecution 2. law of torts : “Tort” is a civil wrong for which a remedy may be obtained, usu in the form of damages; it is a breach of duty that the law imposes on everyone. Strictly speaking, ‘law of torts’ has shared elements with Persian but the two are not exactly equivalent in their every respect. For details consult Black’s Law Dictionary.
